Recently I joined another agent on a few appointments. A young couple with a toddler were doing a final walk through on their first home. Everyone was super excited and the energy was palatable. These people were practically strangers to me but I related to the experience of purchasing a first home, of the pride when my children bought their first homes. This young couple were just beaming with joy and it filled my heart. THIS is why I became a REALTOR!
Our next appointment was a showing for a woman who was moving to the area for a new job and to be closer to family. I walked the home prior to the clients arriving. There was a great room that just felt like home, where you could feel the history of family gatherings, a fire in the huge stone fireplace that probably warmed the room as the family gathered for games, meals, or morning coffee.
The car arrived a few minutes later and surprise, the whole family and the dog piled out of that car. Her daughters, brothers, parents, it was a family event to explore this possible new home and the connections they had, the support that they showed each other was so endearing. The woman said she didn’t even need to go into the house, she knew it was hers when they pulled up. I’ve experience that as well, when you find your “home,” you know, its not just a new house, it’s your place, your HOME.
They left all excited with plans to work on financing so she could truly make this all happen. Again, strangers to me but I felt a love for this family from that experience. THIS is why I became a REALTOR!
